Taykova

A whole new level of music - the trio consisting of Scarkat, Miliact, and producer THR - Taykova is representing the South Asian population and making hip hop for the masses with rapping in English and Hindi. They've been enjoying UK airplay on the BBC and are hard at work writing and recording a new album.

Foxfire Forest

A nine piece outfit of undeniable energy and soul, this up and coming group is having no trouble making their mark in Toronto’s music scene. Combine catchy, danceable tunes with a lighthearted and crowd pleasing bunch of musicians and you’ve got a night with Foxfire Forest, who have shared the stage with big local acts like Spiral Beach and Land Of Talk and were selected by the Drake Hotel as one of the best of 2006. Their debut record was released in February 2007.

The Stopmotion Tragedy

Brought up by a family of musicians, this boy has made his way around the town. The Drake, Sneaky Dee’s and Free Time’s Café; you might also recognize him as one of www.absolutepunk.net ’s featured unsigned artists of 2005. Now, Gavin Slate teams with friend and veteran guitarist Adam Vet and the two are cooking up something to behold, indeed. Their release date is set for mid-February. Gavin presented two songs to The Cherry On Top podcast early December.

Carrie Catherine

Using sassy songwriting and electric guitar, Carrie Catherine (Horachek) played an acoustically seducing performance at The Cherry On Top.  She has a way of seducing audiences with engaging stories and a dramatic vocal style. Carrie is a recent recipient of Project 10K20, launched by Rawlco Radio to support the growth of the Saskatchewan music scene by funding new recordings for twenty Saskatchewan artists.
