Enhancement

Audio enhancement, or sound restoration, is the process of taking an original recording and improving the sound quality, for audio evidence in legal matters or to restore old music recordings.

Evidence

Audio recordings are often a primary piece of evidence in determining an individual's guilt or innocence. When the poor quality of the recording obscures the events on tape, audio enhancement can be extremely helpful by decreasing background noise and improving the intelligibility of a recording.

Cherry Beach Sound has years of experience providing this service for legal professionals, law enforcement, transcribers, and private individuals. We recognize the value of security and discretion in handling sensitive material and provide reports on audio recordings we have treated or transferred upon request.

Archival / Remastering

Many of the precious recordings from our past are stored on analog formats, such as open reel analog tape, cassette, or vinyl records. These formats all degrade over time, and the equipment needed to play them is becoming more rare.

Preserve your recordings by transferring them to a digital format. The sound quality can also be enhanced by reducing tape hiss and vinyl surface noise. If your memories are precious, then sound restoration is worth it.

The Process

First, the original recordings are played from the source player and recorded digitally onto the computer. Once the original has been captured, we use software processors to enhance the sound, and record the result in real time within the computer. At this point, an audio CD or digital backup can be made.
